PrJSC MC Ukrnaftoburinnya (UNB) has successfully completed well #22 at the Sakhalin field. During the testing of the first target horizon, commercial gas and condensate inflow was obtained, and the initial daily flow rate amounted to 280 thousand m3 of natural gas and 30 tons of condensate through a 9 mm connection.
The well location was initially selected in accordance with the existing geological and hydrodynamic model, and final confirmation was performed using petrophysical correlations based on synthetic logs.
The well was drilled to a depth of 4,565 meters using a NOV 2000 HP DC drilling rig equipped with a top drive and a triplex pump group.
The well was drilled and put into operation in 110 days (including 74 days of drilling and casing).
"Ukrburservice" was the general contractor for the well construction. The drilling and cementing process involved products and services from a number of Ukrainian and foreign companies, such as Spetsgazbud, Burova Tekhnika, Khim-TECH, Dniprovsky Pipe Plant, Denimex, Weatherford, Schlumberger, Exalo Drilling, etc.
After a rather challenging last year with low gas prices and the pandemic, the oil and gas industry is gradually increasing capital investments. UNB has started implementing the drilling program at the Sakhalin oil and gas field, having completed drilling of well No. 22. Thanks to the high level of expertise and efforts of UNB's geological, drilling, production and construction divisions, which worked as a single integrated team, the well was drilled with a successful result. We are also very grateful to all the contractors who contributed to this project
