The Kyiv District Administrative Court ordered the State Service of Geology and Subsoil to consider the application of PrJSC MC Ukrnaftoburinnya for a special permit for gas production at the Sakhalin field.
Also, the State Service of Geology and Subsoil is obliged to consider the application to conclude an agreement with Ukrnaftoburinnya on the terms of subsoil use.
The relevant writ of execution was issued by the court on February 9, 2024.
On February 27, 2024, the court document entered into force, so the application must be considered by the State Service of Geology and Subsoil immediately, within the time limits established by law.
As a reminder, production at the Sakhalin field has been suspended since December 2023 after the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal issued a ruling.
Despite this, the company has paid more than UAH 3 billion in taxes and continues to pay salaries to its employees in full.
As a result of the suspension of natural gas production at the Sakhalin field, the state loses UAH 190 million in rent, UAH 130 million in VAT and about UAH 80 million in income tax every month.
